Where you can visit Bilbies
Queensland bilbies are genetically distinct from those which live in the Northern Territory and Western Australia. In order to establish a captive breeding program, Peter McRae took bilbies from Queensland’s last remaining wild population, west of Longreach, to Charleville. Many bilbies have been bred there for release into the fenced enclosure at Currawinya National Park, near Cunnamulla. Queensland bilbies can be seen at:

Dreamworld
Dreamworld is home to the only non government a captive breeding program for bilbies and works closely with the Save the Bilby Fund to save one of Australia's cutest icons. Dreamworld Gold Coast is a proud gold sponsor of Save the Bilby Fund and Dreamworld's resident bilbies regularly visit schools as part of the Dreamworld Education Program, Wildlife For Kids.
