Frank and his bilbies are seen by hundreds of thousands of students every year through his school visits. He aims to educate the younger generation about the plight of endangered species, and in particular the bilby. He teaches them how they can help ensure the bilby remains part of the Australian landscape.
You can also access some other great free materials through our websites:
- Our website provides access to our bilby fact sheet, bilby research and much more.
Face the Challenge Endangered Species Crossword Competition - this is our endangered species competition site which contains a crossword and lots of fun stuff for your students. By entering the competition, which runs from July to National Bilby Day each year, your students are provided with a wonderful research opportunity to learn about our endangered Australian wildlife and the threats to survival these animals face. Your students also run the chance of winning great prizes including a visit from Frank and a bilby to your school – anywhere in Australia! Entry is FREE. Young students are invited to colour in the images around the crossword and enter their work too! Entry is open to children aged 5 to 18 years. If you would like to support Save the Bilby Fund, your school could hold a fundraiser such as a Mufti Day or sell Bilby merchandise on Schools Bilby Day (the Friday before National Bilby Day).
www.easterbilby.com.au - this site includes a great range of lesson plans and activity sheets for primary school students.
